The Ambulance Service responded to 12 calls and transported seven people to the hospital, three with Advanced Life Support services on board. The ambulance responded to four motor vehicle crashes and provided one lift assist.
Tuesday, Jan. 28
At 1:09 p.m. Engine 2 responded to a fire alarm at a commercial building on Ayer Road; the problem was a dirty smoke detector.
Wednesday, Jan. 29
At 10:06 a.m. a carbon monoxide detector went off at a Stow Road home; the duty officer found the 25-year-old alarm was past its useful life. At 11:59 a.m. a student set off a fire alarm at the Bromfield School. At 1:05 p.m. Engine 2 was called to the crash involving a utility pole on Ayer Road; firefighters helped clean up debris. At 3:44 p.m. the duty officer was called to deal with a faulty smoke alarm that was sounding intermittently at a Prospect Hill Road residence. At 9:19 p.m. Engines 2 and 4 responded to a car fire on Route 2 westbound.
Thursday, Jan. 30
At 5:52 p.m. Engine 4 went to Lancaster and covered the station there for three hours while Lancaster firefighters dealt with a building fire.
Friday, Jan. 31
At 10:46 a.m. the duty officer cleaned and replaced a dirty smoke detector at an Ayer Road building.
Saturday, Feb. 1
At 6:53 a.m. firefighters went to the crash on Oak Hill Road and provided safety at the scene until the car was towed.
Monday, Feb. 3
At 2:40 p.m. Engine 2 was called to a two-car collision on Interstate 495 southbound, but the call was canceled en route.
