In the past three weeks, police made 74 motor vehicle stops, 21 resulting in verbal warnings, 51 in written warnings or citations, and two in civil citations that carry a fine. Officers also received five calls about disabled motor vehicles, made one well-being check, and responded to 11 false burglar alarms. In addition, there were 11 calls about missing or loose dogs, as well as numerous calls about road hazards and downed tree limbs or wires.
Tuesday, Dec. 17
At 5:24 p.m. a 911 caller reported a car had struck a deer near the intersection of South Shaker and Ayer roads. At 10:46 p.m. a Littleton County Road resident told police it sounded as if someone was cutting trees behind his house, but police found no one in the area.
Wednesday, Dec. 18
At 10:33 a.m. a person came to the station to report a suspected fraud. At 8:24 p.m. someone brought in an injured bird, which was turned over to the animal control officer.
Thursday, Dec. 19
At 12:40 p.m. a resident came to the station and reported another case of fraud.
Friday, Dec. 20
At 8:05 a.m. a caller reported an injured owl on Ayer Road. At 1:42 p.m. a West Bare Hill Road resident reported a missing person, but she was soon found at home. At 4:34 p.m. a 911 caller reported a one-car crash on Pinnacle Road; no one was injured, but the car required a tow. At 7:05 p.m. a car hit a tree near the corner of Stow Road and Haskell Lane.
Sunday, Dec. 22
At 10:19 a.m. a Littleton County Road resident reported a suspected case of breaking and entering that had occurred sometime earlier; an officer investigated and filed a report.
Wednesday, Dec. 25
At 11:19 a.m. a Myrick Lane resident called to say their dog had been bitten by a neighbor’s dog; the animal control officer was notified.
Friday, Dec. 27
At 11:29 a.m. Harvard police assisted Boxborough officers in arresting a 37-year-old Centerville woman who had refused to leave a property when asked to do so by the owner. At 2:55 p.m. a caller reported a delivery truck had run into a stone wall on Bolton Road, and the driver had then left the area.
Saturday, Dec. 28
At 11 a.m. a Prospect Hill Road resident came to the police station to report a case of harassment.
Sunday, Dec. 29
At 5:48 p.m. a driver who was backing out of a driveway on Littleton Road hit a stone wall and got stuck on it. At 6:22 p.m. a 911 caller asked police to make an unwanted person leave a home on Tahanto Trail. At 7:22 p.m. an officer checked on a car parked near the Harvard Park track on Lancaster County Road and found that the driver was in violation of an abuse prevention order. The 19-year-old Ayer man was arrested and later transferred to the Worcester County Jail.
Monday, Dec. 30
At 9:19 p.m. a Littleton County Road resident reported hearing someone knocking on the window; police checked the area but found nothing amiss.
Tuesday, Dec. 31
At 12:52 p.m. a hiker who had gotten lost called police and was given a ride from Old Littleton Road back to their car in Littleton.
Thursday, Jan. 2
Between 5:44 a.m. and 2 p.m. police received numerous reports of trees or wires down because of the high winds. At 3:48 p.m. a 911 caller reported a car had crashed into a stone wall along Bolton Road; the car required a tow.
Friday, Jan. 3
At 6:51 p.m. an officer spoke with the occupants of a car parked at the Prospect Hill overlook, explaining the area is closed after sunset.
Saturday, Jan. 4
At 6:28 p.m. a Brown Road resident called 911 after receiving some threatening texts or emails.
Sunday, Jan. 5
At 8:19 p.m. a car collided with a rock near the intersection of East Bare Hill and Bolton roads.
Monday, Jan. 6
At 12:53 p.m. a caller told police an inebriated person was driving away from a location on Mass. Ave. Police searched the area, but the car was gone.
