In the past week, police made 16 motor vehicle stops, 13 resulting in verbal warnings, two in written warnings or citations, and one in a civil citation that carries a fine. Officers also helped one person who was locked out of a vehicle and made one well-being check.
Tuesday, Dec. 3
At 1:09 p.m. a caller told police a dog was loose on Prospect Hill Road; the animal control officer was informed. At 1:21 p.m. an East Bare Hill Road resident called, saying a man holding a clipboard had knocked on the door and then said he was at the wrong address; police searched the area but found no one. At 6:13 p.m. someone asked police to check on a juvenile at a Harvard address.
Wednesday, Dec. 4
At 9:50 a.m. a solicitor who expected to be going door to door checked in with the police as required. At 12:06 p.m. a 911 call came in from an elevator in a town building, but it was a false alarm. At 2:06 p.m. a Glenview Drive resident called with concerns that they might have inadvertently purchased a stolen car; a check by police found the car was not stolen goods. At 4:58 p.m. a caller reported a deer had been hit on Stow Road. At 8:44 p.m. police notified the Department of Public Works that snow was making the roads hazardous. At 10:14 p.m. a 911 caller reported a crash on East Bare Hill Road; no one was injured, but the car required a tow.
Thursday, Dec. 5
At 11:52 a.m. police were asked to check a residence on Clinton Shore Drive for someone who had possibly violated a restraining order, but the person was not there. At 3:46 p.m. two golden retriever-type dogs were reported loose on Pond Road.
Friday, Dec. 6
At 7:55 a.m. a 911 caller reported a crash on Route 2 eastbound; state police had jurisdiction. At 9:03 a.m. another 911 call came in from Route 2, this one reporting a bag of trash in the westbound lane; state police were notified. At 11:33 a.m. police took a report of a case of larceny, forgery, or fraud; no details were available. At 3:46 p.m. a caller reported a juvenile problem at the school.
Saturday, Dec. 7
At 8:06 a.m. workers accidentally set off a commercial burglar alarm at a Prospect Hill Road building. At 8:40 a.m. an officer noticed a tree leaning on the power lines along Old Shirley Road, and National Grid was notified. At 12:01 p.m. a 911 caller reported a crash on Route 2 eastbound; state police had jurisdiction. At 12:42 p.m. a Quarry Road resident reported his daughter missing, but she returned home soon afterward. At 12:46 p.m. a caller told police there was a suspicious object near the corner of Slough and Bolton roads; the object was an old briefcase, which the police deemed to be harmless trash, so they notified the DPW.
Sunday, Dec. 8
At 12:57 a.m. police notified the DPW that the roads were becoming slick with snow. At 10:27 a.m. a car slid off Shaker Road and into a private driveway; no one was injured. At 3:08 p.m. police again checked a Clinton Shore Road house for the person they had sought Thursday, but again the person was not there. At 5:24 p.m. an Old Littleton Road resident called 911 to report seeing people with flashlights moving around inside a darkened house where no one was thought to be home; police checked the house and found the homeowners present.
Monday, Dec. 9
At 1:56 p.m. an officer filed a report of someone making threats.
