Spring season came to an end this week for the baseball and girls lacrosse teams as they both faced and lost to two of the most highly ranked teams in their divisions in this year’s Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association state finals.
Meanwhile, both tennis teams advanced to the round of 8 in their Division 4 playoffs. Both teams are ranked highly in this season’s final MIAA power ranking, the boys ranked fifth and the girls sixth. But both teams will face opponents they have not encountered during the regular season, each ranked slightly higher than Bromfield.
Boys baseball (league 9-5, all 11-6)
- 6/2 MIAA Division 5 state tournament round of 32 vs. Mystic Valley Regional (20), 8-3 win
- 6/4 MIAA Division 5 state tournament round of 16 @ Pioneer Valley Regional (4), 11-0 loss

- 6/1 MIAA Meet of Champions. Senior Christopher Demetros placed third in the pole vault among 18 of the state’s best with a jump of 14 feet.

- 5/31 MIAA Meet of Champions. Senior Grace Beckett placed ninth in the pole vault among 14 of the state’s best with a jump of 10 feet, 6 inches.

- 6/6 to 6/9: USRowing National Championship, Sarasota, Florida. Bromfield Acton-Boxborough under-17 4 crew will compete.
