Volunteers needed for town administrator search
The Town Administrator Search Committee seeks two citizens to join the committee. To fill out a volunteer form, click on “Boards & Committees” on the town website home page. Scroll down to “Town Administrator Search Committee,” and follow the link to the volunteer form. Applications are due May 7.
Youth soccer clinics
Bromfield varsity soccer coaches and players will hold two three-day youth summer clinics: June 25-27, 12:30-3:30 p.m., and August 13-15, 9 a.m.-noon. Register through the Harvard Soccer Club website: www.harvardsoccer.org.
Survey seeks input on administrator job
The Select Board and Town Administrator Search Committee would like residents to share their thoughts and ideas about the qualities they view as necessary in Harvard’s next town administrator. The survey form will be open until Monday, May 13; link to the survey from the “News & Announcements” tab on the town website, harvard-ma.gov.
Elderly and disabled tax aid
The Elderly and Disabled Taxation Aid Committee administers funds to assist elderly and disabled town members with the costs of property taxes. The committee is accepting applications for aid until Thursday, May 20. Guidelines to qualify for aid and application forms are at the committee page on the town website, harvard-ma.gov.
Mother’s Day flower fundraiser
The Friends of Harvard Soccer announce Mother’s Day flower sales to benefit the Bromfield boys and girls soccer teams. All profits support the upcoming season. Passenger rail to Pittsfield
Amtrak has announced that tickets are now on sale for the Berkshire Flyer, the seasonal summer passenger rail service that operates between New York City and Pittsfield, Massachusetts. The service runs weekends, June 21 through Sept. 2. Trains depart New York City Friday nights and return at the end of the weekend, leaving Pittsfield Sunday afternoons. New this year, the service also includes a train from New York City to Pittsfield on Sunday mornings.
Donations for library book sale
The Friends of the Harvard Public Library will accept donations of used books, CDs, DVDs, and jigsaw puzzles for the annual book sale at the library entrance Saturday, May 4, 9 a.m.-noon. The book sale will be held May 10-12.

Youth track clinic
The Parks and Recreation Commission’s 21st annual youth track clinic starts Wednesday, May 8. The clinic at McCurdy Track is open to youth in grades 3-6 who love to run, jump, and throw. Registration closes next week, so be sure to sign up today at harvardma.myrec.com.
Share your opinions on arts funding
The Harvard Cultural Council awards grants to organizations, schools, and creatives of all ages and backgrounds in Harvard and neighboring communities. Activities considered for grant funding include community gatherings such as concerts, plays, and festivals; arts, science, and environmental education in the schools and at the public library; and projects focusing on local history and diversity, restoration, and preservation.
As the council sets its funding goals for the next three years, it seeks input at bit.ly/3TonuiZ. Please reply by May 31.
Transfer station stickers
Transfer station stickers are now on sale via mail, Dropbox, or online. Stickers will not be prorated; both stickers must be purchased at the same time, and stickers purchased will be mailed out by June 15. Prices remain the same as last year: $130.00 for two stickers. Dinner for two, anywhere
Tickets are available for the Ducky Wucky River Race sponsored by the Rotary Club of Ayer, Shirley, Harvard, and Devens, with a grand prize of dinner for two anywhere in the world. Sales close Thursday, May 9, at 5 p.m., and the race will be Saturday, May 11. Sales benefit the charitable causes of the Rotary Club, including local food pantries, high school scholarships, youth sports programs, and more. Register for Jimmy Fund walk
Registration is now open for the 2024 Jimmy Fund Walk, scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 6. Funds raised from the Jimmy Fund Walk support all forms of adult and pediatric patient care and cancer research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
