Time to support our local farmers

April 12, 2024

I have talked to many friends and acquaintances in town who all want to support our local farmers. Let’s face it, the character of this town is based on the apples, the animals, and just the beautiful nature of fields, trees, and rocks.

This is the time of year when I feel each of us can do our part. One can drop by Carlson’s to enjoy their cider barn, or head over to the Harvard Alpaca Ranch to buy some of their products, and pretty soon you’ll be able to pick blueberries at Doe’s. My favorite way to support local farmers, and I would love for you to make it your favorite too, is to buy a CSA (community supported agriculture) share at Westward Orchards.

The farm offers 10-, 15-, and 20-week full and half shares. They even have an option where you purchase the ability to buy whatever you want with a freedom share. Something for everyone. So let’s all put our hard-earned money into supporting our local farmers and buy a CSA share of some sort (westwardorchards.com) and get out and visit the other hard-working farmers in town as their offerings become available.
