Thanking the community for supporting students’ fundraising

April 12, 2024

A huge thank-you to all who donated and otherwise supported our 10th-grade daughter Khivi Nanra as captain of Team Beyond Blood, and her teammates, fellow Bromfield sophomores to seniors, in their intense fundraising efforts for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Student Visionaries of the Year campaign.

Their grand total on April 7 was near $40,000, all a result of their hard work together and your generosity. They created and sold over 70 heart yard signs, painted faces on over 100 kids, created and sold over 50 flower arrangements, and spent countless hours meeting, planning, and discussing, all while encouraging each other and having some fun too. The most important benefit, the ethereal feeling of working hard toward a worthy cause, together as a team, is invaluable.

A special shout-out to the following town organizations: Fivesparks, for hosting the largest fundraising event, an art silent auction and sales of heart signs; the Harvard General Store, for a beautiful display of heart yard signs and allowing the team to collect donations at their open mic night; Carlson Orchards, for allowing the team to sell signs and collect donations for face-painting at their annual Pot O’ Gold Hunt; the Council on Aging for hosting two heart sign displays; and the Garden Club of Harvard for supporting the team with their flower arrangement creations and sales during the Bloom N Art show. Special thanks also to the generous area artists who donated artwork for the silent auction, and the Bromfield School jazz band for spending a Friday evening playing some great tunes for the cause.

Although the campaign and gala events are over, donations can still be accepted until June 30, and there are still some heart signs available if you want one.

Heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated, large or small, purchased a heart sign and shared their personal stories of battles with blood cancers. You have all touched us immensely.

AnaMaria, Jasdeep, and Khivi Nanra, and members of Team Beyond Blood
