In the past week, police made five motor vehicle stops, one resulting in a verbal warning, three in written warnings or citations, and one in a civil citation, which carries a fine. Officers also issued or renewed a firearm permit and responded to two false burglar alarms.
Tuesday, March 19
At 11:46 a.m. an officer served an out-of-state summons at a Slough Road residence. At 8:24 p.m. a caller asked to speak with an officer about a possible case of fraud.
Wednesday, March 20
At 6:03 a.m. a 911 caller reported debris that had fallen from the back of a truck on Route 2 eastbound, and state police were alerted. At 11:16 a.m. a car and a truck collided at the intersection of Pinnacle and Littleton roads; no one was injured, but the car required a tow. At 11:25 a.m. a caller asked for a well-being check on an Oak Hill Road resident who had missed a doctor’s appointment; an officer checked on the resident and found all was well. At 8:38 p.m. police were informed a company planned to repossess a vehicle on Turner Lane.
Thursday, March 21

Friday, March 22
At 10:11 a.m. a Highland Avenue resident came to the station to report some tools had been taken from their property. At 11:07 p.m. police notified the Department of Public Works and the state Highway Department that road conditions were becoming hazardous throughout town.
Saturday, March 23
Between 4 a.m. and midnight, sleet, rain, and freezing rain brought on what one officer called “a tree apocalypse.” Downed trees, tree limbs, and wires were reported on Ayer, Old Mill, Oak Hill, West Bare Hill, Old Littleton, Bolton, Slough, and Pinnacle roads. At 6 a.m. a 911 caller reported a crash on Route 2 eastbound; state police had jurisdiction. Another crash took place on Route 2 westbound at 5:47 p.m. At 8:37 p.m. an Eldridge Road resident called 911 with suspicions about a car parked in their driveway, but the car was gone when police arrived. At 10:53 p.m. a power outage was reported on Bolton, Oak Hill, and Pinnacle roads; National Grid was informed.
Sunday, March 24
More downed trees were reported on Bolton Road at 10:32 a.m. and on Oak Hill Road at 2:28 p.m. At 4:10 p.m. a Park Lane resident called and asked an officer to log a report about a package the resident had received by mail; the resident suspected it was possibly a violation of a restraining order, but police found there was no violation.
Monday, March 25
At 12:33 a.m. an officer spotted a utility line down on Oak Hill Road; the wire did not appear to be live, but National Grid was notified. At 1:56 p.m. Harvard police were alerted to an incident on Interstate 495 southbound; a tractor-trailer driver had pulled over to the side of the road and, in an apparent case of road rage, two men in another car also stopped and attacked the truck driver with a hammer. Bolton police called on the Harvard ambulance to transport the injured man to a hospital. Marlborough police later arrested and charged two men from Dracut in the attack.
