Boston Tea Party anniversary
The Harvard Historical Society will present a program to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party Saturday, Sept. 9, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the entrance to the Center Cemetery, which is next to the Congregational Church, 5 Still River Road. Rain date is Sunday, Sept. 10.
Refreshments will be at the No Tea Table. A highlight of the program will be inside the cemetery, where visitors will hear the story of Elijah Houghton, a farmer living on West Bare Hill Road, whose identity as one of the participants in the Boston Tea Party was made known only recently.
The event is free, but donations are appreciated.
Trustees of Reservations weekend events
- Fruitlands Museum Fairy Forest, 102 Prospect Hill Road. On Saturday, Sept. 2, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., families can visit the forest and build their own fairy and gnome houses.
- deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum at 51 Sandy Pond Road, Lincoln, will feature a guided tour of the sculpture park Saturday, Sept. 2, and two yoga sessions Monday, Sept. 4, including one for families.
- The Old Manse, 269 Monument Street, Concord, offers a variety of tours regarding its history throughout the weekend.

Mary Gauthier at Fruitlands

Fall Fest
The Harvard Lions Club will host its annual Fall Fest Saturday, Sept. 16, from 3 to 9 p.m. on the field at the Harvard Public Library, 4 Pond Road. Live music, food, beverages (including beer and wine), and games will be featured.

ShirleyFest
ShirleyFest will take place Saturday, Sept. 9, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Shirley Center Common, 41 Brown Road, Shirley. The day’s entertainment will include singers, dancers, bands, and a magic show, as well as crafts booths and children’s activities. Admission and parking are free.

Images of spirituality
Starting Sept. 22, the Museum of Russian Icons, 203 Union Street, Clinton, will present “Spirituality in Eastern Christianity: Images of a Living Tradition,” an exhibition of photographs by Alain de Lotbinière taken in North Macedonia, Serbia, Russia, Turkey, and Egypt.
