Town offices closed Monday
Town offices including the public library will be closed Monday, June 19, in observance of the Juneteenth holiday. Schools, post offices, and banks will also be closed on this federal holiday.
Fourth of July events
This year’s Fourth of July celebration will include a display of antique cars at 9 a.m. and bike decorating at the library field at 10 a.m., with the parade beginning at 11 a.m. at Depot and Ayer roads and the flag raising at noon, followed by field events, all on the library field. Wild turkey survey
The public is invited to help MassWildlife biologists assess the state’s wild turkey population by reporting observations of hens (female turkeys), poults (newly-hatched turkeys), jakes (juvenile males), and toms (adult males). The survey is open now through Aug. 31 and is available at mass.gov/info-details/summer-wild-turkey-survey.
Pride patches available
During the month of June, Harvard police officers are wearing Pride patches to show support for LGBTQ+ youth suicide prevention and crisis intervention. A limited number of patches are available for purchase through the month of June or until they are sold out. To purchase a patch, come by the station at 40 Ayer Road or contact Officer Cavanaugh or Trish at 978-456-8276, Monday through Friday during business hours. Proceeds go to The Trevor Project, the world’s largest organization dedicated to this cause.
Swimming and boating lessons
The town is offering three two-week swimming lesson sessions during the summer.
There will also be canoes, kayaks, a pedal boat, and a row boat for rent. Youth sailing and paddling lessons are available in the afternoon at beginner and advanced levels. Learn more and register for parking stickers and any of the swimming or boating programs at harvardma.myrec.com.
Housing forum
There will be a community forum to discuss the town’s housing production plan Wednesday, June 28, from 7 to 8 p.m. via Zoom. The forum will focus on ways to create diverse and affordable housing in town over the coming five years. Get transfer station stickers by July 1
Transfer Station sticker prices remain the same as last year, $130 for two stickers. Online purchases for use by July 1 must be made prior to June 22. Mail-in applications must be postmarked prior to June 17 to have stickers processed and returned by July 1.

Ultimate frisbee
Registration is open for an ultimate frisbee summer clinic with coach Don Phillips, a veteran of the JuJu Hex Team of the Boston Ultimate Disc Alliance. Soccer skills clinics

This food pantry, 234 Barnum Road, Devens, offers drive-thru access for those needing help with groceries.
