In the past week, police made seven motor vehicle stops, resulting in six verbal warnings and one written warning. They also made three well-being checks, issued or renewed one firearm permit, and checked on a disabled vehicle.
The Ambulance Service responded to 14 calls and transported six patients to the hospital, none with Advanced Life Support services on board. There were three motor vehicle collisions and one lift assist.

Wednesday, May 17: At 4 p.m. Ayer police called to say a Harvard resident’s wallet had been turned in at the Ayer police station; a Harvard officer informed the resident. At 4:54 p.m. a caller said a bicyclist had passed the caller’s car on Littleton County Road and nearly caused a head-on collision; units were advised to watch for the cyclist.
Thursday, May 18
At 10:03 a.m. police received a call about a car crash on Route 2 eastbound; state police had jurisdiction. At 1:03 p.m. a caller reported a loose poodle near the intersection of Bolton and Barton roads. At 2:36 p.m. someone called about a fallen tree branch that had brought down wires in the woods along Warren Avenue near Peninsula Road; National Grid was informed. At 6:02 p.m. a bicyclist coming downhill on Old Littleton Road crashed into a car pulling out of a driveway; though injured, the cyclist refused ambulance transport. At 7:57 p.m. a caller told police someone driving a white pickup had illegally dumped two bags of construction trash into a private dumpster at an Ayer Road apartment building.
Friday, May 19
At 10:54 a.m. Boxborough police asked Harvard for backup at an apartment. At 12:07 p.m. a firefighter called about a driver who was tailgating the fire truck on Stow Road; the tailgater was gone when police arrived. At 1:10 p.m. a Warren Avenue resident complained about dirt bikes and an all-terrain vehicle in the area. At 3:03 p.m. another Warren Avenue resident reported people shouting and calling for help in the nearby woods; police investigated but found no one in the area. At 3:11 p.m. there was a two-car collision on Bolton Road; one car was towed and two people were taken to the hospital. At 5:44 p.m. an Old Littleton Road resident reported someone for violating a restraining order.
Saturday, May 20
At 6:23 p.m. a caller reported a fallen tree blocking the road near the intersection of Blanchard and Lancaster County roads. At 9:39 p.m. a driver said a sedan had passed their car in a no-passing zone and had nearly run into a car coming the other way; the sedan was gone when police arrived.
Sunday, May 21
At 2:51 p.m. a Mill Road resident reported that someone who appeared disoriented had parked nearby and was trying to get into the resident’s house; an officer spoke with the would-be intruder and the person left. At 4:30 p.m. someone turned in a cellphone found on conservation land; it had not been claimed as of Tuesday. At 10:15 p.m. Ayer police called to say a car that had nearly struck a utility pole was weaving down the road toward Harvard, but the car was gone when police arrived. At 10:48 p.m. an officer checked on a car parked behind Dunkin’ Donuts.
Monday, May 22
At 7:58 a.m. a caller reported a collision on Route 2 eastbound; state police had jurisdiction. At 11:06 a.m. a larceny report was filed; no further details were available. At 3:49 p.m. someone walking in the Oxbow National Wildlife Refuge became lost and phoned police for help; officers searched on foot and located the person. At 5:38 p.m. an officer found the wastewater treatment building had been vandalized with spray paint..
