In the past week, police made 38 motor vehicle stops, resulting in four verbal warnings, 33 written warnings, and one unclassified. They also made two well-being checks, responded to three false burglar alarms, and checked on one disabled vehicle. The Ambulance Service responded to eight calls and transported five patients to the hospital, two with Advanced Life Support services on board. The ambulance was called to one motor vehicle collision this week. No one required a lift assist.
Tuesday, April 18
At 11:45 a.m. a car veered off Ayer Road; damage was minor and no one was injured. At 3:08 p.m. someone called the police station about an incident of harassment.
Wednesday, April 19
At 5:03 p.m. a caller reported low-hanging wires on Old Mill Road; police determined the wires were not a hazard and notified the utility companies. At 9:05 p.m. someone reported a theft, but no further details were available.
Thursday, April 20
At 4:55 p.m. a Simon Atherton Row resident called to say his large, brown dog had run off; the animal control officer was notified. At 6:03 p.m. Ayer police called for assistance in serving a restraining order.
Friday, April 21
At 12:51 a.m. a caller reported a disturbance on Old Shirley Road, saying a car was stopped in the road with its lights on and people were yelling at one another. When police arrived, they were told the occupants of the car had had an argument and someone had left on foot. At 10:01 p.m. an officer on patrol found the lights on at the DPW garage on Depot Road, but nothing else was amiss.

Sunday, April 23
At 8:52 a.m. a 911 caller reported a one-car crash on Route 2 westbound; state police had jurisdiction.
Monday, April 24
At 6:10 a.m. a caller reported a deer carcass was a hazard for drivers on Ayer Road; an officer moved it aside and called the DPW to take it away. At 11:02 a.m. two cars collided on Ayer Road; damage was minor and no one was injured. At 12:15 p.m. a caller told police an alarm was sounding at a building on Mass. Ave., but police checked the area and found nothing. At 5:36 p.m. a Deerfoot Trail resident called to say a man was going door to door selling window replacements, but the salesman was gone when police checked the area.
