A crew provided coverage for Lancaster while the Lancaster Fire Department dealt with a garage fire.
Friday, Dec. 30
At 8:46 a.m. a fire alarm activated at a West Bare Hill Road home; the duty officer responded and found low batteries had caused the alarm to go off. At 11:48 a.m. an alarm sounded at a commercial building on Ayer Road, set off by smoke from an overheating belt on some equipment.
Monday, Jan. 2
At 7:37 p.m. a fire alarm went off at a Littleton County Road residence when occupants forgot to open the damper before starting a fire in the fireplace; the smoke had already cleared out when firefighters arrived.
Wednesday, Jan. 4
At 11:21 a.m. firefighters ordered someone on Still River Road to put out an illegal fire in which the person was burning material that is not allowed to be disposed of that way.
Friday, Jan. 6
At 10:54 a.m. firefighters were dispatched to a reported car fire on Interstate 495 southbound, but the call was canceled while they were on the way. At 3:50 p.m. a fire crew went to the car crash on Littleton Road where they cleared debris and stood by until the towing company arrived to remove the vehicle.
