Kate Selig, formerly an editor of the Bromfield Mirror and a writer for the Harvard Press, has won a fellowship from the Asian American Journalists Association. The fellowship supports journalists and storytelling, diversity in newsrooms, and fair and accurate coverage of communities of color. Selig is a Stanford undergraduate student and a news editor of the Stanford Daily. Her reporting, funded by the fellowship, will focus on the effort to preserve Cantonese language programs at higher education institutions in the Bay Area.
