The boys and girls cross-country teams ended their regular seasons solidly in first place in the six-school Midland-Wachusett C League after defeating second-place Quabbin Regional last Thursday. This week the two teams were preparing for the league championship scheduled for Oct. 22.
The Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association released its power rankings for Division 5 boys and girls soccer last Friday. The boys, state champions for three years straight, are ranked fourth among the 82 schools in their division, with Sutton, Bromfield’s traditional rival, on top. The girls are ranked 10th among 90 schools. This year’s Central Massachusetts Athletic Directors Association soccer tournament is scheduled to begin Oct. 24 and run through Oct. 29. The MIAA state tournament begins Nov. 1. Seeds and brackets were not available in time for this edition of the paper.
