At 7:51 p.m. firefighters went to an Eldridge Road home in response to a call about smoke. Engines 1, 2, 4, the tower, and the tanker all responded. The problem was a wood stove with a blocked chimney.
Monday, Dec. 20
A 911 caller from Fairbank Street reported a carbon monoxide alarm was sounding. The duty officer traced the problem to poor venting in the flue pipe, and the homeowner had the vent serviced.
Tuesday, Dec. 21
At 5:21 a.m. steam from an oven set off a fire alarm at the Dunkin’ Donuts on Ayer Road.
Several false alarms, electrical problems, and faulty detectors were the only other events to disturb the end of 2021 and the first days of 2022.
