As you most likely know, in the next several weeks somewhere in the range of 53,000 Afghan evacuees will be resettled all across our country. We are expected to receive between 400 and 500 folks in this area.
WelcomeMA is a volunteer organization established to help Ascentria Care Alliance resettle these people. With their help, a neighborhood support team has been organized in Harvard. “Team Harvard” has been working together for the past six weeks to be ready to host a family . Unfortunately, we have just learned that our Harvard housing option is no longer available and we are scurrying to find another.
We are reaching out to the community to ask for your help. Do you have a vacant in-law apartment? A vacant home that might be available for three to six months? An apartment or condo near Harvard? Funds are available for rental fees.
We appreciate any ideas you may have. We know there’s somebody out there who has a home just waiting for a family!
