Reimagining the string band
Fivesparks, 7 Fairbank Street, and notloB Parlour Concerts welcome Noah y Maurizio’s Acoustic Nomads, Saturday, Nov. 20, 7:30 p.m., who bring their varied backgrounds in traditional and contemporary music and Appalachian, Venezuelan, Brazilian, and jazz influences. Erin Ash Sullivan in concert
Harvard’s own singer-songwriter Erin Ash Sullivan will perform at Fivesparks, 7 Fairbank Street, Sunday, Nov. 21, at 3 p.m. Sullivan’s music focuses on the power of story to build connection; her solo album, “We Can Hear Each Other,” was released in May of 2021 featuring the single “Fireflies.” Admission is $20. Youth theater at Fivesparks
Theater UnCorked’s Shana Dirik will direct two youth theater workshops on school early-release days Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 22 and 23, 12:30 to 4:30 p.m at Fivesparks, 7 Fairbank Street. Based on TheaterFUN, first- and fifth-graders will engage in games, mini-performances, team-building and more to help them grow as actors. Register for one or both days at Fivesparks.org.

Tenor Fred VanNess performs in Stow
The Sounds of Stow Chorus and Orchestra will perform Sunday, Nov. 21, 2 p.m. at the Hale Middle School, 55 Hartley Road, Stow. Featured will be works by Thomas Ades, Ola Gjello, Adolphus Hailstork (featuring tenor Fred VanNess), and Christopher Tin. Mechanics Hall concert
The New England Symphony Orchestra season continues with a “Festive Baroque and Beyond” concert at Mechanics Hall, 321 Main Street, Worcester, Saturday, Dec. 18, 7:30 p.m. The program features selections by J.S. Bach, Antonio Vivaldi, and Georg Phillip Telemann. Also appearing will be the Worcester Children’s Chorus and soprano soloist Elaine Daiber.
