We were so, so sad to hear of the death of Paul Swider, as we were a couple of those recipients of his warmth and generosity. We only talked to Paul a handful of times, and briefly, but we both have held him in our hearts for years as a truly special person whom we were lucky to know.
We met Paul through our eggs. Paul would sometimes intersect with one of us at the bottom of our driveway as he bought some eggs from our cooler. He warmly praised the eggs and told us how he would often bring some to an elderly customer of his to bring her some joy. He would leave his card or little notes along with his payments. And one day he presented us with a new and beautiful sign he had made to replace our old faded one! We felt touched by his love, even though we hardly knew him, and we send our love back to his family and friends who are mourning his loss. We are too.
