I think people should adopt more dogs because there are a lot of dogs that need homes. Dogs can get put down but that is only one reason.
My next reason is that dogs need a home because they need love and caring for.
Another reason is that if they are in a shelter for their whole life, nobody’s going to feel good about it. Did you know that there are about 3.9 million dogs in shelters in a regular year?
My next reason is: Why not? People love dogs, so why should you not adopt one?
At least you will be helping dogs—your dog, your neighbor’s dog. I bet a lot of dogs will be happier when you adopt them!
Another reason is that people feel good when shelters are empty. You will be glad if you are a part of it. Why should you do anything at all? This is what most people tend to think. I think you should do something to help, because you would not like it if you were cooped up in a shelter. I am not saying that you should adopt 10 dogs. I am saying that you should get one or two dogs.
If you did get 10 dogs, then technically you would not be helping. Because you would want to give all your dogs attention. But you can’t because you would be, let’s say, feeding one of your dogs while the others are chewing up the furniture in the house because they need exercise. So you take them out, but the one you were feeding is now crying. You feel you cannot handle all of this and you probably end up taking them back.
And so those are my reasons that I think more people should adopt dogs. I think that you should at least try thinking about it.
