During the past week, police made 25 motor vehicle stops, which resulted in eight verbal warnings and 17 written warnings or citations. Emergency responders received four medical calls and transported two people to the hospital; two people refused transport. There were also four false burglar alarms.
Tuesday, April 13
At 7:06 p.m. a caller told police that kids were playing football on Prospect Hill Road, creating a hazard in the roadway. An officer spoke with the footballers.
Wednesday, April 14
At 11:05 a.m. an officer checked on a moving van that was blocking a lane on Littleton Road, and the truck left shortly thereafter.

Friday, April 16
At 7:26 a.m. a 911 caller reported the heavy snow had brought down a tree, which in turn felled a utility pole on Lovers Lane. The Department of Public Works closed the road temporarily while National Grid made repairs. At 11:15 a.m. someone called 911 to say a car had struck a tree on Bolton Road. Because the car’s airbag had been activated, an ambulance came to the scene, but no one needed medical treatment. The car was towed.
Saturday, April 17
Nearly all the week’s 25 motor vehicle stops took place Saturday, as part of a grant-funded effort to deter texting while driving. At 10:27 a.m. an Eldridge Road resident called 911 with concerns about a driver with a medical condition; the police located the driver, who was all right. At 12:48 a.m. a caller told police the stop sign at the intersection of Old Littleton and Old Schoolhouse roads had been knocked down; the DPW was informed. At 5:06 p.m. someone called to say that some free items that had been left beside the road were creating a hazard; the items were gone when an officer arrived.
Sunday, April 18
At 12:07 p.m. someone radioed dispatch to report a collision on East End Road in Bolton. One car had rear-ended another, and the ambulance squad took at least two people to the hospital. At 2:02 p.m. someone reported a FedEx drop box on Ayer Road was open. Police found no one had tampered with the box; a driver had apparently forgotten to relock it. At 4:34 p.m. a Warren Avenue resident called 911 about a stranger on the property; someone had gone to the wrong house by mistake.
Monday, April 19
At 3:33 p.m. a Blanchard Road resident reported several chickens had invaded the yard. At 4:13 p.m. someone asked police to check on a person who was slumped over the steering wheel of a car on Prospect Hill Road. Police arrested 44-year-old Anthony Maramarco of Shirley. He was charged with a second offense of operating a car under the influence of liquor, operating under the influence of drugs, and endangering a child.
