In last week’s paper, retired fire chief Peter Warren wrote that the utility poles on Harvard Common should have been relocated so that they were not blocking the new sidewalks. I agree but I suggest that we entirely remove the poles and bury the wires. Our town center historic district would greatly benefit from this change, and utility customers would be much less likely to suffer a power outage during a severe storm. I encourage everyone to imagine this improvement the next time they visit town center.
