The Bromfield girls indoor track team placed 30th out of 60 teams with 7 points at the MIAA All-State Championship Saturday, Feb. 22, at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston.

Senior Sam Schoenberg placed second in the high jump with a height of 5 feet 6 inches, tying with Rudecia Bernard of Dedham. Reflecting on her performance, she said, “I feel really good about my all-state’s performance. I always have a really good end to my season and I’m really happy that all of my training is starting to come together to produce good results.”  Bromfield’s 4×200-meter relay team—junior Claire Stoddard, senior Liza Toll, sophomore Pariss Eanglee, and Schoenberg—placed 17th with a time of 1 minute 49.46 seconds.

Junior Cole O’Neil, the only member of the boys team to compete, placed 18th in the 300-meter dash with a time of 37.20 seconds.

Toll competed in the Massachusetts 10th Scholastic Weight Throw Invitational Wednesday, Feb. 19, at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston. She placed seventh, throwing a distance of 22 feet 1 3/4 inches.

Schoenberg will compete at the New England Championship on Saturday, Feb. 29, at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston. Looking forward to her next competition she said, “I’m mainly focused on jumping a season personal record which will hopefully place me pretty well. Since I will only be high jumping and not having to leave the competition to go run, I think I’ll have a really good opportunity to do well. I’m just hoping to go in fresh and have a really good day.”

Fiona Morrison is a Bromfield senior.
