Run-for-the-Hills
5K and 2K
Help the Harvard Conservation Trust preserve rural Harvard by participating in the 10th annual Run-for-the-Hills 5K trail run or 2K walk Saturday, Oct. 20, at 10 a.m. The venue is the Community Harvest Project’s orchards on Prospect Hill and the woodland trails of the Prospect Hill/Deans Hill conservation land. Life support/CPR
courses offered
Always On Call Health Services Inc. will offer the American Heart Association’s Basic Life Support/CPR for the Health Care Provider Tuesday, Oct. 22, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 285 Central Street in Leominster.
The course, which includes CPR and AED for infants, children, and adults, is geared for people who work in the healthcare field, day care providers, and nursing school students.

Green Energy Program info sessions
Harvard, with the assistance of Colonial Power Group Inc., has entered into a 36-month agreement with Dynegy Energy Services to bring energy cost-savings to residents. The town will be using 100% green energy, derived from National Wind renewable energy certificates.
Participating residents and businesses will see an average savings of 24% in their monthly energy bills during the 2019-2020 winter and an average savings of five% over the term of the contract..
The program will be operated on an opt-out basis, meaning that all Harvard residential and business customers currently on National Grid’s Basic Service will be automatically enrolled into the 100% renewable energy program unless they choose to opt out. You may opt out at any time with no penalty charges.
Two information sessions will be held to answer questions regarding the program:
- Tuesday, Oct. 1, at 12:30 p.m. at Hildreth House
- Thursday, Oct. 3, at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall

Information sessions at Parker School
The Francis W. Parker Charter Essential School is hosting information sessions for the 2020-21 school year. The school is open by lottery to Massachusetts residents in grades 7 through 12.
