Changes coming in Harvard’s electricity supply; beware of solicitations

September 19, 2019

Some residents have received telephone and even door-to-door calls from electric/energy suppliers, some even posing as employees of the local utility, attempting to solicit their business. These calls are NOT affiliated with the Town of Harvard’s recent selection of a Community Choice Power Supply Program that will be rolling out in the coming weeks. Harvard electricity customers with National Grid Basic Service will receive an official mailing from the town, stamped with the town seal, and be automatically included in the new supply for a November start date. The mailing will include information on the program and instructions for those wishing to stay with National Grid Basic Service. Customers who have previously selected an alternative supplier or have selected the Green Energy Consumer’s Alliance “GreenUp” option will not be receiving a mailing, but will be able to opt into this new program. Keep an eye out for the official mailing and public sessions being scheduled in the next few weeks.
