It is great to see folks returning to Bare Hill Pond after a rainy spring with kayaks, paddle boards, canoes, sailing, and recreational boats—or taking to the water as swimmers. We want all to enjoy shared use and encourage everyone to be familiar with the rules so we can all be safe.
Swimmers, please take care and stay within 100 feet of shore unless accompanied by a boat. Motorboats, please stay in the designated path, which is in deeper water (more than 150 feet from shore), and follow the counter-clockwise travel route. A few new folks were traveling in the wrong direction this past weekend and that could cause an accident. If you see someone who is new, please let them know. Also by staying on the path in deeper water, you will avoid the rocks, and it will minimize cutting of milfoil, which spreads by cutting.
