In the past week, police made five motor vehicle stops, leading to three verbal warnings and two written warnings or citations. Officers also responded to six medical emergencies, from which the ambulance squad took three people to the hospital, all with Advanced Life Support on board.

Wednesday, April 10
Whitney Road resident called at 8:31 a.m. to report suspicions about someone in a white Toyota Camry who, according to the caller, had been shining a flashlight into nearby yards for the past two nights between 10:30 and 11 p.m. At 11:25 a.m. an officer checked on a truck with out-of-town plates that was moving a snowblower and other equipment; nothing was amiss. At 11:11 p.m. a Littleton Road resident complained about a neighbor’s dog that had been barking for a while.
Thursday, April 11
At 3:20 p.m. someone reported suspicions about a multicolored van driving around the area of Mass. Ave. and Slough Road. An officer searched the area, but the van was gone. A person called from Fruitlands Museum at 5:17 p.m. to say a chocolate Lab was running in the road. Police called the animal control officer.
Friday, April 12
At 5:44 a.m. police received one of the many 911 calls that have come in during past months indicating a problem at the town sewer pump house. An officer said the problem is in the phone line, and Verizon has been notified repeatedly but has not corrected the issue. The problem occurred again Saturday at 12:15 a.m. and Sunday at 4:59 a.m.
Saturday, April 13
An Old Mill Road resident called at 8:58 a.m. to report trash had been dumped illegally on the side of that road. At 6:12 p.m. Ayer police asked for Harvard’s help in locating a vehicle belonging to some people who had been walking in a restricted area near power lines. At 7:55 p.m. Harvard police backed up Bolton officers at a two-car accident resulting in injuries. Later that evening, at 8:42 p.m., Harvard again assisted Bolton police, this time in serving a restraining order on a Bolton resident.
Sunday, April 14
At 12:39 a.m. an officer checked on a car left overnight in the parking lot at the General Store. A Bowers Road resident called at 1:37 p.m. to report that a five-mailbox unit had been knocked over, either by vandals or by accident. An officer helped to right the boxes. At 2:16 p.m. a woman came to the station to say she had seen a dead coyote, or possibly a dog, by the side of the road on Mass. Ave. near Slough Road. An officer searched the area but found no canid corpses.
Monday, April 15
A Poor Farm Road resident called 911 at 8:13 p.m. because a telephone pole had fallen, bringing down electric wires that were arcing. Police notified National Grid, which shut down power to the area and repaired the damage.
