My name is Jennifer Combs, and I am writing today as a candidate to become a Warner Free Lecture Trustee. I think the Warner Free Lectures are one of the outstanding features of our town, and I have enjoyed attending the lectures over the years so I would be happy to contribute my time to continue the tradition of educational lectures that dates back to 1890.
I have lived with my family in Harvard for over 20 years. My children have gone to school here, and I have been active, at various times, with Friends of the Library, and I served on the Zoning Board of Appeals. I was a history major, and I like to read, including two newspapers daily. I am interested in a broad range of people and subjects that would be applicable to assisting and supporting future choices for Warner Free Lectures.
If I am elected, I would make attendance at meetings and lectures a priority, and because I have a flexible schedule, I would be available to follow up on any assignments given to me by the board. I would spend time and ask questions to determine what subjects would be welcomed by townspeople for future lectures. I would be thrilled and honored to serve as a Trustee of the Warner Free Lectures.
