Parker is accepting applications for next year’s
enrollment

The Francis W. Parker Charter Essential School in Devens is accepting applications for enrollment for the 2019-2020 school year. All applications must be received by Feb. 1, 2019. For more information about the Parker Charter School and the enrollment process, visit theparkerschool.org.



Learn about Vicksburg Square rezoning

A webpage has been set up to serve as a central repository for information related to the proposed rezoning of Vicksburg Square in Devens. Notices of public meetings and public hearings, drafts of the proposed revisions to the Devens By-Laws and Reuse Plan, and other useful information can be found at bit.ly/2AJ183s.



Spring baseball/softball registration now open

The Harvard Youth Baseball & Softball Assocation has announced that registration is now open for spring programs. To registers, go to harvardyouthbaseball.org/News/Id/40015. Sign up early to get a discount; rates will go up after the new year. In addition to the spring programs, a winter clinic will start in mid-January, running for five weeks for both softball and baseball.

The organization is looking for additional help from parents. There will be vacancies on the board after this season. No baseball/softball experience is required. For more information send email to larryfeinberg@gmail.com.



Parks and Rec Commission seeks ideas for town center

Parks and Recreation is seeking input on what the town should do with the Common area between the General Store and the Congregational Church. Ideas already proposed range from keeping it grass to fire pits and skating rinks. Please submit your ideas by the end of January on the Parks and Rec website at bit.ly/2EsReq5. Recognition will be given those whose ideas are adopted.



Support programs at the Healing Garden

The Virginia Thurston Healing Garden Cancer Support Center, 145 Bolton Road, announces winter cancer support programs for individuals, their families, and caregivers. A range of services is available, including movement and strengthening classes, estate planning workshops, mindfulness training, and cancer support groups. Expressive arts workshops aimed at helping patients process and release emotions are also available, including mind-body sound therapy, writing for wellness, and sand painting. Winter programs run through Feb. 28, 2019.
