During the past week, police made five traffic stops, all leading to verbal warnings. The ambulance crew responded to eight medical emergencies, taking five people to the hospital, two with Advanced Life Support on board. Police also processed one firearm license.
Tuesday, Sept. 18
Someone phoned the police at 8:19 a.m. to report a case of identity fraud. No further information was available. A 911 caller at 1:06 p.m. reported that a trash removal truck had flipped over in the woods near Turner Lane. No one was injured, and the truck was towed. A Stow Road resident called at 3:16 p.m. saying a truck with a trailer was blocking the road. That vehicle was also towed. At 5:45 p.m. a woman reported that someone in a car had stopped to take a video of her while she was jogging on South Shaker Road. In response to a phone call from an Ann Lees Road resident at 8:31 p.m., police charged Joshua Fishbein, 20, with domestic assault and battery as well as vandalizing property. He was arraigned in Clinton District Court Monday, Sept. 24, with a pretrial hearing scheduled in early November.
Wednesday, Sept. 19
A 911 caller at 6:05 a.m. alerted police about a large tree branch that had fallen on Slough Road and police removed it. At 6:44 a.m. another 911 caller reported an accident on Route 2 eastbound, which was referred to state police. In a third 911 call, at 12:24 p.m., a Glenview Drive resident expressed suspicions about a shoeless male smoking while walking down the street; police checked the area but found nothing amiss.
Thursday, Sept. 20
At 8:17 a.m. a caller reported an accident on Route 2 eastbound, which was again referred to state police. One person was offered ambulance transport but refused. At 12 noon, a caller told police that, near the intersection of Slough and Stow roads, someone in a black Jeep had tried to force her car off the road and then deliberately ran over a squirrel before heading onto Route 495.
Friday, Sept. 21
At 6:1l p.m. a Prospect Hill Road resident called police to report disorderly conduct. Police arrested 41-year-old Inessa Batista Borges-DeOliveira of Acton, charging her with larceny. According to police, the woman was inebriated and had taken items from the house where she worked as a cleaner.
Saturday, Sept. 22
At 2:05 a.m. an officer checked on a vehicle parked at the Prospect Hill overlook and told the driver to move on. A Murray Lane resident called at 5:55 p.m. with suspicions about a man walking through the backyard; police spoke to the walker, who said he had gotten lost and wandered off a trail in nearby conservation land.
Sunday, Sept. 23
A caller at 6:18 p.m. reported possible drug activity taking place on a walking trail near Bellevue Cemetery. Police checked the area but found nothing.
Monday, Sept. 24
At 9:15 a.m. someone got stuck in the Town Hall lift, requiring help from the Fire Department for release.
