Well-adult clinic
Nashoba Associated Boards of Health, in conjunction with the Harvard Board of Health, will hold a well-adult clinic Tuesday, April 17, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Hildreth House. Drop in for blood sugar screening, blood pressure, pulse screening, and dietary advice. No appointment is necessary. Bereavement support
Nashoba Nursing Service & Hospice will hold a grief support session Wednesday, April 18, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Hildreth House. The session is open to all adults who are experiencing loss due to the death of a loved one. Registration is not required, and there is no fee. Gothic Victorian tales by candlelight
On Wednesday, April 18, at 1 p.m. the COA will host Rita Parisi from Waterfall Productions with a theatrical presentation of mysterious stories about love, revenge, death, and betrayal from Louisa May Alcott, Kate Chopin, and Emily Bronte. Call to reserve a seat. The program is supported in part by a grant from the Harvard Cultural Council, a local agency, which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
Eldridge hosts annual Senior Conference
State Senator Jamie Eldridge will host the 38th annual Senior Conference Thursday, April 19, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School, 215 Fitchburg Street in Marlborough. The conference will include interactive workshops, health screenings, door prizes, speakers, breakfast, and lunch, all free for seniors in attendance. The annual conference has been a tradition in the Middlesex and Worcester District since 1980. The van will leave Hildreth House at 8:30 a.m. and will return around 3 p.m.
Game time with HES students!
Hildreth Elementary School 5th-graders will visit Hildreth House Tuesday, April 24, from 12:45 to 2:45 p.m. to socialize and play indoor and outdoor games. Join us for an afternoon of fun.
Visit the Wayside Inn
Longfellow’s Wayside Inn in Sudbury is the oldest inn still operating in the country, serving travelers on the old Boston Post Road for nearly 300 years. Join the COA for lunch at this national historic landmark Monday, April 30, leaving Hildreth House at 11 a.m. The van fee is $2.
Computer workshop on social media
Learn the basic functions of Facebook and how to use NextDoor to connect with neighbors Friday, April 20, at 1 p.m. If possible bring your laptop or tablet to follow along with the presentation. Class size is limited.
Fuel assistance deadline approaching
You can apply for fuel assistance up until April 30. The state gross annual income limits for fuel assistance are $34,380 for a household of one person and $44,958 for a household of two. In addition, Harvard offers a HEAT (Harvard Energy Assistance Team) program. Anyone concerned about paying heating bills is encouraged to contact the COA.
‘Fra Angelico: Heaven on Earth’ at the Gardner
The COA will visit the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston Wednesday, May 16. The exhibition will feature the renowned Renaissance painter Fra Angelico’s masterpieces and his talent for storytelling. The van will leave at 10 a.m. and will return around 4 p.m.
