Brown Road resident Giselle Jones-Mollod, an eighth-grader at Applewild School in Fitchburg, placed first in the regional Massachusetts History Day competition earlier this month. Her paper “The Missouri Compromise: How Compromise Led to Civil War” was awarded first place in the written paper category. She competed in the state finals April 7 at Winchester High School.
