Julian Iverson, an eighth-grade Bromfield student, won the school-level competition of the National Geographic Bee on Dec. 22. Earlier in the month, Iverson and second-place finisher Jayden Liu won their way into the school-level bee during preliminary classroom competitions. Other participants included fellow eighth-graders Tiana Jiang, Neha Kommineni, and Jackie Walker; seventh-graders Curtis DiNapoli, Sawyer Madison, Amelia McManus, and Tim Zobbi; and sixth-graders Cate Foley, Demetrios Kekis, Yaxi Li, Luke MacLean, and Maddie Silk.
Iverson and other winners from around the state will now take an online test; top scorers from Massachusetts will be eligible to compete in the state bee April 6.
