Computer support and workshops
Schedule an appointment for help with computer issues Tuesday or Friday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hildreth House. Or sign up for a workshop:
- Nov. 3, 1 p.m. – Explore new features in iOS 11 for iPhone and iPad.
- Nov. 17, 1 p.m. – Learn how to back up your computer.
Turkey dinner
Celebrate Thanksgiving with your COA friends Thursday, Nov. 9, at noon at St. Theresa’s Church. The menu will include turkey prepared by Bob’s Turkey Farm along with all the fixings.
Let’s go to the movies
On Monday, Nov. 13, at 1 p.m. in Volunteers Hall, see a feature-length film starring Woody Harrelson and Brie Larson. The movie is an adaptation of a best-selling memoir by Jeannette Walls about the lives of a dysfunctional father and his fiery, determined daughter.
Veterans’ breakfast
The COA will honor local veterans with a breakfast at Hildreth House Tuesday, Nov. 14, at 9 a.m. Veterans Agent Mike Detillion will speak about the various services available to those who have served.
Fuel assistance available
The heating season has arrived, and predictions for the coming winter are for lots of cold and snow. The state gross annual income limits for fuel assistance are $34,380 for a household of one person and $44,958 for a household of two. In addition, Harvard offers a HEAT (Harvard Energy Assistance Team) program. Anyone concerned about paying heating bills is encouraged to contact the COA.
Relax and be pampered at Spa Day
Come to Hildreth House for some relaxation and pampering Monday, Nov. 20, 9:30 a.m. to noon. Enjoy a chair massage, compliments of the Bancroft School of Massage, or a hand massage, compliments of a local Avon representative. Also, students from Nashoba Tech will offer $5 haircuts and $2 manicures. Light refreshments will be served.
Artisan multi-media gallery show
Start your holiday shopping early at Harvard’s Artisans Multi-media Gallery Show and Sale Saturday, Nov. 18, 7 to 10 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 19, noon to 4:30 p.m. at the Congregational Church. The event, a fundraiser for the COA, will feature glassware, jewelry, paintings, photography, quilting, pottery, weaving, woodworking, and one-of-a-kind art. The event will include refreshments and live music.
