Planning for future needs
Join the COA Sunday, Sept. 17, 1 to 4 p.m. at the Unitarian Church Fellowship Building for an informative panel discussion with presentations by experts in the field of eldercare. The program is specifically aimed at providing information and services that elders and their family members may need now or in the future. The event is co-sponsored by the Harvard COA and Still River Senior Life Consultants. Panelists will include Jack Whelan, Still River Senior Life consultant; Erin McBee, elder law attorney; Kathy Crowley of RiverCourt Residences; Lynnette Duggan of Right at Home; Ben Woolfrey of Edward Jones financial planning; Ellen Levinson of Lifecare Center of Nashoba Valley; and Kathy Benson, of Nashoba Nursing Service and Hospice. Refreshments will be provided by RiverCourt Residences.
Podiatry and well-adult clinics
The COA will host a podiatry clinic Monday, Sept. 18, 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Call to schedule an appointment with podiatrist Dr. Ayleen Gregorian. The fee is $30.
The Nashoba Associated Boards of Health in conjunction with the Harvard Board of Health will hold a well-adult clinic Tuesday, Sept. 19, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Drop in for a one-on-one consultation with a nurse and a blood pressure check. Local audiologist Dr. Leslie Soiles and a representative from New England Hearing Instruments will offer information and answer questions about hearing loss and treatment options Tuesday, Sept. 19, at 12:30 p.m.
Andres Art Institute sculpture park visit
On Wednesday, Sept. 20, visit Andres Institute of Art, the largest sculpture park by area in New England. It includes more than 80 metal and stone sculptures on 140 acres of gardens and forests. The van will leave Hildreth House at 9:15 a.m. and return at 3 p.m. The fee of $10 includes the tour, the van, a box lunch, and a hiking pole for the walking paths.
Senior Day at the Farmers Market
Saturday, Sept. 30, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., is Senior Day at the Harvard Farmers Market in front of Hildeth Elementary School. SNAP benefits may be used to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at some vendors. Signs are posted for your convenience. The COA van will be available for transportation to and from the market. Call 978-456-4120 to sign up for the van 24 hours ahead. Entertainment will be by Debbie Thompson’s band, “Side Effects.”
Vintage movie
The vintage movie series continues Monday, Sept. 25, at 1 p.m. in the Hildreth House parlor. A favorite classic film from the 1930s or ’40s will be featured.
