Lance Jarosz of Poor Farm Road and Alex Magan of Warren Ave. were key players on the Hudson American Legion Post 100 Junior Baseball team this summer. The U17 team compiled a 23–4 record, including 16 consecutive victories, en route to winning the 2017 Massachusetts State Junior Legion Baseball Championship, July 28.

The team advanced to the Junior Legion Northeast Regional tournament in Bangor, Maine. Unfortunately, their winning streak was snapped in their first regional tournament game, losing 3–2 to the eventual runner-up team from Stratford, Connecticut.

Jarosz had a batting average of .372 for the season, and Magan had an average of .393. The team was composed of players from Acton-Boxborough, Bromfield, Clinton, Advanced Math and Science, Hudson, and Nashoba high schools. They were coached by Nelly Ahern and Mark Ahern of Hudson.
