With the acceptance of a new and much lower bid for plumbing work, the renovation of two Bromfield School science labs is back on track, Superintendent Linda Dwight told the School Committee Monday night. Dwight said she had received three new bids and accepted the lowest, for $73,000. She now expects the renovations to be completed in December.
The lab renovations were originally scheduled to be done over the summer. But the lone bidder on the plumbing had asked for $121,000. Because the plumbing and concrete work are the earliest phases of the project, that unacceptably high bid delayed the entire project for several months.
