Let’s go to the movies
On Monday, July 10, at 1 p.m. in Volunteers Hall, see the story of Richard and Mildred Loving, a couple whose arrest for interracial marriage in 1960s Virginia began a legal battle that would end with the Supreme Court’s historic 1967 decision.
Computer support
COA’s computer gurus will be on hand each Tuesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the computer lab at Hildreth House for help and suggestions about working with your computer. To minimize wait time, please call to schedule an appointment.
A special workshop session focusing on accessing music is scheduled for Monday, July 10.

The COA will host a podiatry clinic Monday, July 17. Call to schedule an appointment with Dr. Ayleen Gregorian. The fee is $30.

The life and times of John Barrymore
Enjoy a live enactment of the life and times of the “bad boy” actor of the early 20th century, John Barrymore, Wednesday, July 12, at 1 p.m. at Hildreth House. Professional actor Richard Clark will portray Barrymore in a portrait of a great artist who has lost his way. The performance features glimpses into Barrymore’s family history, theater lore, the rigors of marriage, and Hollywood.
Older than 90?
See the HBO documentary “If You’re Not in the Obit, Eat Breakfast,” featuring interviews with famous nonagenarians, Monday, July 24, at 1 p.m. in the Hildreth House parlor.
Have lunch at the ‘Eataly’
Join COA friends Wednesday, July 26, for lunch at the “Eataly,” a 45,000 sq. ft. marketplace in Boston’s Prudential Center featuring several restaurants, a bakery, butcher shop, fish shop, cheese-making station, pastry shop, and coffee bars. The van costs $5 and will leave Hildreth House at 9:30 a.m.
Take me out to the ball game!
See the Lowell Spinners play on Friday, July 28. $20 covers the van, a box seat ticket, hot dog, ice cream, and soft drink. The van will leave Hildreth House at 6 p.m. and return around 10 p.m.
