UNICEF collection exceeds goal

November 17, 2016

We are so excited to announce that this year’s total for the Halloween UNICEF boxes is $1,329.81, well surpassing our goal of $1,000! This came from more than 100 boxes. The collected change included (but was not limited to) 81 dollar coins, 5,321 pennies, and 1,683 quarters for a total of $761.81 in change alone.

We would like to thank the HES and Bromfield students for their hard work collecting money. Two families stood out—the Voutes and the Murphys—for raising almost $300 between them! We also thank the principals of both schools for making the boxes available in their offices. A special thanks to the General Store for having boxes available, allowing us to collect the money in the parking lot on Halloween, and having money collected there after Halloween. Final thanks goes out to the library for handing out boxes and to The Harvard Press for promoting our effort so well. This money will go a long way to helping children around the world have a healthier life. See you next year.
