Giant yard sale
The Friends of the COA will hold a yard sale to support the COA Saturday, Nov. 5, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 20 Under Pin Hill Road. Come for bargains: dishes, decorations, trinkets, tools, antique treasures, and more.
Relax and be pampered at Spa Day
Come to the old library for some relaxation and pampering Wednesday, Nov. 9, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Enjoy a chair massage, compliments of the Bancroft School of Massage, or a hand massage, compliments of a local Avon representative. Also, students from Nashoba Tech will offer $5 haircuts and $2 manicures. Light refreshments will be served. Call to reserve a spot.
Veterans breakfast
The COA will honor local veterans with a breakfast at St. Theresa’s Church Thursday, Nov. 10, at 9 a.m. Veterans Agent Mike Detillion will speak about the various services available to those who have served.
Let’s go to the movies!
On Monday, Nov. 14, at 1 p.m. in Volunteers Hall, see a feature-length movie starring Susan Sarandon and Rose Byrne. Sarandon plays a 60-something mom who moves from New York to Los Angeles to be closer to her screenwriter daughter.
Sightmobile offers vision and hearing tests
The Lions Club Sightmobile will be at St. Theresa’s Church Thursday, Nov. 17, 9 a.m. to noon. Free vision and hearing testing is available to all.
Multimedia gallery show and sale
Start your holiday shopping early on Saturday, Nov. 19, 7 to 10 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 20, noon to 4:30 p.m. at the Congregational Church. Glassware, jewelry, pastel paintings, photography, and unique art will be featured, and homemade soups and cider will be available. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Council on Aging.
Fire/fall prevention
Come hear advice for living safely at home as long as possible from national and local safety experts. The program is at St. Theresa’s Church Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 12:30 p.m.
