Tick talk
Kathryn Nelson from the Nashua River Watershed Association will give a brief talk Tuesday, June 7, on tips to prevent getting Lyme disease. She will tell us how ticks become infected with the disease, how they pass that on to humans, how to avoid tick bites, and what to do if you have been bitten. The talk is made possible by a grant from the Nashoba Valley Community Healthcare Fund.
Tour of Hanover Theatre, Worcester
On Wednesday, June 8, seniors will have an in-depth look at the history and architecture of the Hanover Theatre in Worcester, an example of early 20th-century theatre architecture. The tour, led by architectural historian Susan Ceccacci, is meant to bring the heyday of the movie palace era alive. The bus will leave Hildreth House at 9:30 a.m. Cost is $10 per person.

On Monday, June 13, see Maggie Smith star in a film based on the story of a playwright who develops an unlikely friendship with a homeless woman living in a van in his driveway.
Police Association to host senior cookout
The Harvard Police Association will host all Harvard seniors and volunteers at its annual barbecue Thursday, June 23, at noon. This year the event will be held at Holy Trinity Parish. Sign up is necessary by June 16 to ensure enough food.
COA to move to old library
While Hildreth House renovations are being done, COA will be temporarily housed at the old library at 7 Fairbank Street. The move will take place June 13 to 17. Until work at Hildreth House is complete, programs, meals, and events will take place at the temporary location.
