We, the parents of the Harvard Destination Imagination team, would like to express our sincerest gratitude to the community of Harvard for its generous financial and moral support that helped send a group of hardworking, creative, and team-spirited fifth-grade girls to the 2016 Global Finals in Knoxville, Tennessee, this year. To everyone that stopped by our bake sales at the Transfer Station and the soccer field; to all the friends, mentors, and neighbors that gave online to our GoFundMe site; to the Harvard Schools Trust, and to all those who gave the girls wonderful words of encouragement, thank you, for “it takes a village to raise a child.” These girls (Sarah Burns, Claire Kelley, Amita and Asha Khurana, Allie Redinger, Sara Selig, and Siena Stanten) returned having had an experience to treasure for years to come, each one a bit more sure of herself to tackle her next challenge, whatever that may be.
