Town offices will reopen June 6
Town offices, which have been closed since May 25, will reopen Monday, June 6, at the newly renovated Town Hall.
Fire Department activates emergency alarm system
As of Monday, May 30, a loud air horn sounds whenever the Harvard Fire Department responds to an emergency call between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. The horn is mounted on Harvard’s center fire station and is sounded to alert residents, motorists, bikers, and pedestrians that firefighters are converging on the center of town to respond to the call, and that they should be on alert for emergency vehicles in the area. The air horn system will help keep both the public and responding firefighters safer during emergency incidents. If you hear the air horn, please proceed with caution and be aware of your location relative to the Harvard Fire Department center fire station. Firefighters and emergency vehicles will be responding to and from that location.
Harvard Help volunteers needed
Volunteers are urgently needed to drive or answer the phone just one day per month. Drivers should be available on their scheduled day to take clients to appointments, usually no more than 15 miles from Harvard. No more Styrofoam recycling
at Transfer Station
DPW Director Rich Nota has announced that the town’s Styrofoam recycling vendor has shut down operations. According to Nota, “The reality is that it’s not currently a profitable product.”
