This week police made four traffic stops that resulted in two citations and two verbal warnings. They also responded to one call about a disabled motor vehicle, helped one driver get into an inadvertently locked car, and responded to one request for a cooking fire.
The ambulance crew responded to four medical emergencies and took three people to the hospital, two with Advanced Life Support on board. One person refused medical treatment or transport to the hospital.
Tuesday, April 5
At 8:35 a.m. police were called to the scene of a two-car accident at the intersection of Pinnacle and Littleton roads. Police say one car had been stopped at the stop sign on Pinnacle and proceeded to cross Littleton onto Poor Farm Road when it struck a car heading eastbound on Littleton. There were no injuries; the driver of the car bound for Poor Farm was cited for failure to yield to oncoming traffic. Someone stopped at the station at 12:25 p.m. to speak with an officer about a family matter.
Wednesday, April 6
Ayer police called at 8:11 a.m. to alert Harvard officers about a car being driven erratically on Ayer Road, headed for Harvard. Police did not locate the vehicle. Someone stopped at the station at 10:35 a.m. to lodge a complaint about barking dogs on Madigan Lane. An officer on patrol at 12:45 p.m. noticed two trees leaning on a vacant house on Old Mill Road. The officer alerted the homeowner to the situation. Someone called 911 at 2:34 p.m. to report a car being driven erratically on Massachusetts Avenue near the Boxborough line. Police located the car and discovered that the driver was having a diabetic reaction. The Boxborough ambulance was summoned to take the driver to the hospital. Someone called at 10:13 p.m. to notify police that a car would be left overnight in the Congregational Church’s parking lot.
Thursday, April 7
Someone called from the Harvard Veterinary Clinic at 10:40 a.m. to report that a dog being boarded at the kennel there had not been claimed by its owner. Upon investigating, police found that the owner was in the hospital and was making arrangements for someone to get the dog.
Friday, April 8
A Madigan Lane resident called at 5:11 a.m. about a neighbor’s dogs barking outside. Police advised the dogs’ owner to bring them into the house. Someone called 911 at 11:17 a.m. to report an accident on Route 2 and said that the driver was pinned in the car and bleeding. Harvard dispatched firefighters and the ambulance; the Lancaster Fire Department and EMS also responded, along with state police. Lancaster EMS transported two people to the hospital. A Littleton Road resident called at 1:36 p.m. to report an incident of credit card fraud.
Saturday, April 9
A motorist called at 1:58 p.m. to say he had just struck a deer on Tahanto Trail, and thought the animal might still be alive. The deer was not found.
Sunday, April 10
A resident on Ann Lees Road called at 9:32 a.m. to report that several items had been stolen from unlocked cars parked in the driveway sometime during the previous night. A Littleton Road resident called at 10:23 p.m. to report that a drone was flying over his home. An officer checked the area but did not see a drone. At 11:48 p.m. someone reported a car fire on Route 2 eastbound near exit 38. Harvard firefighters extinguished the fire; the car was towed.
Monday, April 11
A Prospect Hill resident called at 6:03 p.m. to report finding a pop-up tent blowing around in the road, and said he’d hold onto it in case anyone was looking for it.
