April computer workshops
The COA offers an ongoing series of interactive computer workshops Friday afternoons from 12:30 to 2:30 at Hildreth House.
- April 1: Managing passwords
- April 8: PC Open House
- April 15: Mac Open House
Art in Bloom
The COA goes to the Fitchburg Art Museum Friday, April 8, to view the floral displays in the museum galleries. The van leaves Hildreth House at 10 a.m. and returns around 2;30 p.m. Cost is $10 plus the cost of lunch.
A village model of aging
On Monday, April 11, from noon to 2 p.m., come to the Congregational Church for lunch and to learn about a village model of aging, created by elders for elders. The “Village” has three components:
- Connecting members to discounted providers and volunteers for services
- Offering members healthy living options and discounted homecare providers
- Organizing programs, seminars, and trips
This program is offered by the League of Women Voters, the COA, and the Friends of the COA.
Let’s go to the movies
The COA will host a movie Monday, April 11, at 1 p.m. in Volunteers Hall. Christian Bale, Steve Carrell, Ryan Gosling, and Brad Pitt star in a comedy-drama based on a non-fiction book about the financial crisis of 2007–2008.
Protect yourself from Medicare fraud
Come meet a representative of the Massachusetts Senior Medicare Patrol Program Tuesday, April 12, at 1 p.m. at Hildreth House. Learn how to detect and report healthcare errors. The free workshop will provide seniors the tools to become more informed health-care consumers.
WCVB Channel 5 tour
Seniors will leave Hildreth House at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, to travel to Needham to tour the WCVB Channel 5 studios and see live NewsCenter 5 reporting. Lunch will follow at the Cottage Restaurant in Wellesley. Cost is $5 plus the cost of lunch.
