The Bromfield boys varsity basketball team won three straight games at home last week against Tahanto, Parker, and Murdock to bring its season record to 6–4. The Trojans won each game with 64 points or more and ended each game with a 25-point lead or more.
On Tuesday, Jan. 12, against Tahanto, the Bromfield boys were looking to rebound from a 3–4 record. They proved their mettle with 20 points in the first quarter, seven of them from senior Ben Neville and nine from senior Mark Schwiegershausen. Seniors Jake Frackiewicz and Tommy Jackovitz also contributed two points each, leaving the opposing Stags behind 20–5 as the quarter ended. The second quarter saw Bromfield gain 14 more points, while Tahanto managed to post only four. With his team’s sizeable lead, Bromfield Coach Ryan Kilian was able to give his starters a rest and allow his reserve players to play in their spots. The half ended with the score 34–9 in favor of the Trojans.
In the third quarter, the Trojans made sure their lead stuck, adding 27 points to their score; senior Liam Sullivan scored seven and Frackiewicz put up eight more. The Trojans had seven different scorers in the quarter and held the Stags to just five points for a 61–14 advantage at the quarter’s end. To cap off the night and the final quarter, Bromfield put up a dozen more points over 10 from Tahanto to secure a 73–24 victory. “That was exciting,” Neville said after the game with his team’s record even at 4–4.

The next night, the Trojans faced Parker Charter at home and walked away with a 64–39 victory thanks to 21 points from Frackiewicz and 11 from Neville. After the first quarter ended in a 16–16 tie with Devin McNamara’s eight points for Parker, the Trojans buckled down and posted 21 points in the second quarter, holding Parker to just six as they took a 37–22 lead. Keeping their offensive pace strong, the Bromfield boys outscored Parker 27-17 in the second half, giving the Trojans the victory. Parker’s McNamara finished the night with 22 points.
With a 5–4 record, the Trojans then moved on to their last game of the week against the Murdock Blue Devils. Bromfield accumulated 10 more points than in the previous game for a 74–39 victory, outscoring Murdock in the first half 38–15. Frackiewicz scored 16 points in the game, while his teammates Neville and junior Ross MacMahon each put up 12.
With a 6–4 record, the Trojans were set to head into a new week, this one on the road, starting on Tuesday, Jan. 19, against Narragansett Regional.
