Community Open House at Hildreth House
The Friends of the Harvard Council on Aging invite all to stop by Hildreth House on Saturday, Nov. 21, between 9 a.m. and noon, for coffee, baked goods, local apple cider, and donut holes. Hildreth House, Harvard’s senior center and home to Council on Aging offices, is located next to the Fire Station. Bring a friend, make new friends, see old friends, and mingle with neighbors, new and old. All ages welcome.

Fruitlands Trail Walk
Explore nature in late autumn in this hour-long ramble on Sunday, Nov. 29, at 1 p.m. at Fruitlands Museum. Interpreters will lead participants in a guided walk along Fruitlands’ most notable features–archaeological sites, scenic vistas of the Nashua River Valley, and our thriving forest. This walk covers a mile of varied terrain and should be considered moderately easy. Trail shoes, walking stick, and warm hats recommended.

The Francis W. Parker Charter Essential School will host additional information sessions for prospective students and their families on Thursday, Nov. 19, from 8:15 to 9:45 a.m., 49 Antietam Street, Devens. PTO Scholastic Book Fair
The Harvard PTO will host its annual Scholastic Book Fair through Tuesday, Nov. 24, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Hildreth Elementary School library. The public, parents, grandparents, and friends are welcome to attend and shop anytime during these hours. The event will feature hundreds of books in every price range, area of interest, and reading level for grades K through 6. Volunteers will be on hand to assist shoppers. This event is an opportunity to get holiday shopping done while benefiting the Harvard Public Schools. All proceeds go directly to programs for students and curriculum-related items for the Harvard schools.
‘The Little Mermaid JR’
Disney’s “The Little Mermaid JR” will come to the Hildreth Elementary School stage Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Nov. 20–22. Show times are Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 2 and 7 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. Come watch 50 talented elementary school students in grades 2 through 5 sing, act, and dance in the newest Superstar production. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $5.
Immaculate Heart of Mary School
Open House

Multi-media Artisan Gallery
Show and Sale
A multi-media artisan gallery show and sale on Saturday, Nov. 21, 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 22, noon to 4 p.m. at the Harvard Congregational Church is a fundraiser to benefit Harvard’s Council on Aging. More than 30 artisans will feature glassware, jewelry, pastels, photography, pottery, quilting, textile designs, watercolors, weaving, woodworking. Homemade soups and cider will be available.

On Saturday, Nov. 21, at 1 p.m. Fort Devens Museum will host a free presentation by members of a Living History Association Re-enactment group representing a German military unit, the 914th Grenadier Regiment, that fought at Normandy against the Allies starting the liberation of France.

Fair Trade Faire
The Women’s Alliance and the Social Action Committee of the Harvard Unitarian Universalist Church will hold its sixth annual Fair Trade Faire Sunday, Nov. 22, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Fellowship Building. With the mission of celebrating and supporting women artisan cooperatives in developing countries, the faire has handicrafts from all over the world for sale. December Concert at the Healing Garden
Enjoy an afternoon of flute music on Sunday, Dec. 6, at 3 p.m. Harmonie Transverse, an extensive flute choir, returns to the Healing Garden to perform a variety of musical compositions under the direction of Jay Kast-Tuttle. Halloween Costume Recycling Program
The Harvard Family Association (HFA) is coordinating a Halloween costume recycling program. Donate your gently used Halloween costumes, accessories, and decorations through the end of November at the Harvard Public Library. Next September the HFA will host a costume sale. This is a way to recycle your Halloween costume, pick up a new one for a bargain, and help the HFA meet its fundraising goals.
Fort Devens Museum Book Group Discussion
There’s room for more participants in the new Fort Devens Museum reading group. It’s a chance to learn more about U.S. and military history with an emphasis on military matters. As their second selection, group members will read “Citizen Soldiers” by Stephen E. Ambrose. The book relates the saga of American soldiers as they fought their way with the Allied forces from Normandy all the way across the European continent to defeat Germany during World War II. ‘You’re a Good Man,
Charlie Brown’
ArtsNashoba, Nashoba Valley’s regional arts center for youth, will present the musical “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 19-21, at the Richardson-Mees Performing Arts Center at Lawrence Academy in Groton. The cast includes Bromfield ninth-grader Catie Segaloff.
BSO Oboist John Ferrillo Performs with Concord Band
The Concord Band is honored to have John Ferrillo, principal oboe of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, as its soloist for its Holiday Pops concerts at 8 p.m. on Dec. 11 and 12, at 51 Walden St., Concord. There will also be an appearance of a traditional visitor from the North Pole.
