This week police made 12 traffic stops, which resulted in five citations and seven verbal warnings. The ambulance crew responded to five medical emergencies and took three people to the hospital; two people refused treatment or transport to the hospital. Two people called to request agricultural burn permits.
Tuesday, Sept. 29
An officer on patrol at 12:43 a.m. stopped to investigate an occupied car parked at Doe Orchards and found that the driver had stopped to check some driving directions. A Craggs Road resident called at 1:48 p.m. to report hearing a gunshot in the area. The investigating officer did not find the noise’s source.
Wednesday, Sept. 30
Someone called 911 at 6:32 a.m. to report a tree blocking the roadway on Littleton County Road. The Department of Public Works was called out to remove it. At 8:43 a.m. a Wilroy Avenue resident called to report that some water pipes had been vandalized. Someone stopped at the station at 12:31 p.m. seeking information about a civil dispute. A motorist called 911 at 2:46 p.m. to report a tree blocking the roadway on Poor Farm Road. The DPW was notified.
Thursday, Oct. 1
At 2:06 p.m. a caller reported a dead raccoon in the roadway on Ayer Road. The DPW was asked to remove it.
Friday, Oct. 2

Saturday, Oct. 3
At 12:15 a.m. a Littleton Road resident called seeking help with getting into his locked home. Bolton police called at 10:44 p.m. to request mutual aid at an incident in that town, but later canceled the request.
Sunday, Oct. 4
At 8:23 a.m. a resident on Simon Atherton Row called to report that a neighbor was burning outdoors illegally. Police say the neighbors in question had an outdoor cooking fire. At 7:15 p.m. a motorist reported striking a deer with his car. Police say there was damage to the car, but it was drivable. The deer ran off.
Monday, Oct. 5
At 2:04 a.m. an officer stopped to investigate a vehicle parked on Lancaster County Road. Someone stopped at the station at 1:29 p.m. to report a theft from an “honor system” lockbox at Little Rascals Orchard. Someone called 911 at 2:42 p.m. after observing two men with screwdrivers attempting to get into a vehicle on Ann Lees Road. One of the men told the investigating officer that he had been locked out of his car and that they were trying to get it unlocked. A Woodchuck Hill Road resident called at 7:07 p.m. to report a burglary that appeared to have occurred between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Thieves took jewelry and other miscellaneous items. Police say the burglars entered the home through an unlocked door.
