There was a frost at some locations in Harvard over the weekend. Old Frog Pond farmer Blase Provitola said the frost there was very light, but Paul Willard reported that at Willard Farm, while it wasn’t a killing frost, it burned some of the foliage on the cornstalks. Thankfully, the corn itself is fine, and Paul reports that “there’s still tons of sweet corn.” Whew.

Pick-your-own apples; check the orchard’s Facebook page for varieties. At the stand: Macoun, Honeycrisp, Cortland, McIntosh, Gala, and Ginger Gold apples. Acorn, butternut, and buttercup squash, and corn from Brookdale Fruit Farm in Hollis, New Hampshire. Chrysanthemums and apple firewood available.

Pick-your-own apples: Macoun, Honeycrisp, Gala, Fuji, Cortland, McIntosh, and more. At the stand: most varieties of apples, honey, pumpkins, and utility apples. Apple firewood available (by the bin). A variety of produce from Harper’s Farm in Lancaster and Ad Astra Farm on Old Littleton Road, as well as organic produce from Old Frog Pond Farm and apples and pears from Carlson Orchards.

Pick-your-own apples and raspberries; check the website at www.oldfrogpondfarm.com for apple varieties. At the stand (on the front porch): Asian pears, potatoes, kale, tomatoes, and garlic. All crops certified organic by Baystate Certified.
Westward Orchards, 178 Mass. Ave.
Pick-your-own apples: Macoun, Empire, Ginger Gold, Gala, McIntosh, and Cortland. In the store: same apple varieties as pick-your-own, pumpkins, plums, nectarines, pears, honeydew melon, cantaloupe, watermelon, cabbage, leeks, Brussel sprouts, peppers, broccoli, beans, summer squash, zucchini, eggplant, beets, kale, Swiss chard, tomatoes (including heirloom and cherry), and red onions. Wagon rides to pick your own pumpkins on weekends, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Willard Farm, 218 Still River Road
Yellow, white, and bicolor corn, pumpkins, gourds, Indian corn, winter squash. Sporadic peppers, hot peppers, melons, and tomatoes.
