Calling all artists and crafters
The Harvard Multi-Media Gallery Show, to be held Sunday, Nov. 15, invites artists and craftsers to participate in the event. Categories will include photography, woodwork, glassware, pottery, jewelry, printmaking, quilting, weaving, metalworking, folk art, basketry, floral arrangements, and much more. Proceeds will be split between the artists and the Harvard Council on Aging. Visit a cranberry bog
The COA will travel to Flax Pond Farms in Carver Wednesday, Sept. 23; departure time is to be determined. Participants will talk with farm owners Jack, Dot, and their family about cranberries and cranberry farming, farm equipment, antique harvesting implements, and artifacts. The gift shop will offer juice samples and recipes, cranberry condiments, hand-painted cranberry vine candles, and other products. The cost is $10, plus the cost of lunch.
Outreach programs available
The Council on Aging offers many outreach programs for seniors, including home-delivered meals; friendly visits; phone wellness checks; social services such as fuel assistance and supplemental nutritional assistance (SNAP); assessment and case management; and more.
